Eden Project Dundee Granted Planning Permission!

We are delighted to hear that the planning for Eden Project Dundee has been approved! This wonderful news comes after an extensive consultation process last year, which involved engaging with the public both virtually and face-to-face. Through that intensive period of public engagement the project's planning application was essentially co-written by the public of Dundee with the inclusion of their comments and feedback. This resulted in the creation of a planning application made, "for Dundee, by Dundee".
The Eden Project is creating new Edens across the globe to help repair people's relationship with nature by encouraging them to think, feel and act differently by revealing how we can learn from and be inspired by nature. Eden Dundee will be situated on an old gasworks on the banks of the River Tay and will combine education, engagement and entertainment with a variety of buildings and outdoor landscapes.
As the appointed Experience Engineers and Acousticians, Charcoalblue have been part of the creation of the project's brief. Using our knowledge of exhibitions, galleries and live performances, we developed a brief that aligns with the Eden Project's requirements of high class experience and sustainable designs.
This projects consistent engagement with the Dundee community and the fact that sustainability is at its heart makes it a fantastic project for us to work on as it meets so many of our cultural values. We're especially grateful to be working with a fantastic design team, in particular working with structural engineers Expedition Engineers who are such a leading light in sustainable building practices. We cannot wait to see how this project continues to develop in the future.
